The goals of the Injury and Orthopaedic Biomechanics group are to investigate clinically relevant biomechanical research problems using the principles of engineering mechanics. This is accomplished by maintaining a close relationship with the clinical faculty of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke. The activities of the group include both experimental and computational biomechanics research to develop, and validate models of soft and hard tissue behavior.
